Leaning Doesn’t End with a Degree!
Although my bachelor’s degree was in a different field, it never limited my growth in tourism. Alongside my university studies, I actively participated in various tourism-related courses, ranging from mountaineering and birdwatching to environmental education. These programs often combined classroom instruction with hands-on field experiences.
Even during my master’s studies, I continued learning beyond the university. In fact, the time I dedicated to external courses and training sessions eventually exceeded the total classroom hours of my formal program, but I was passionate enough to stay committed in both.

UN Tourism Certificates
Living in Iran imposed constraints on accessing paid international certifications due to financial sanctions. While I supplemented my education with free content (Coursera, YouTube, etc.), monetary restrictions hindered official credentialing. These UN Tourism certificates represent the accredited training I could complete under these circumstances.

The Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Iran Certificates
The Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts is Iran’s leading institution for professional tourism training. Its certification programs—each comprising 500+ hours over six months—include specialized coursework, internal assessments, and a nationwide standardized exam. Candidates must also pass a language proficiency interview to receive certification, with the entire process taking approximately two years per program. I have completed two such courses, covering diverse aspects of tourism.

1- Nature-based Tourism and Ecotourism Guide Training Course
The first certification, the “Nature-based Tourism and Ecotourism Guide Training Course,” was issued by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts. The official Persian-language document verifies my successful completion of this 536-hour comprehensive program. As a government-issued credential, it is eligible for certified translation if required.
Core Curriculum of Nature-based Tourism & Ecotourism Guide Course:
1- Ecotourism Principles & Practices
2- Wildlife Studies: Mammals of Iran
3- Geotourism: Geological Attractions & Interpretation
4- Nomadic Cultures of Iran

6- Flora of Iran
7- Specialized Language for Nature Tourism

2- Tour Guide Training Course (Historical-Cultural) – Completion Pending
Completed all 500+ hours of coursework, internal assessments, and the national certification exam at Iran’s Ministry of Tourism. The mandatory language proficiency interview (conducted biannually) has experienced systemic delays, with two scheduled sessions postponed for all candidates.
Core Curriculum of Cultural-Historical Tour Guide Course:
1- Historical Sites of Iran
2- Principles of Tourism Geography & Map Reading
3- Iranian & World Architecture
4- Cultural Heritage & Traditional Arts
5- Ethnography of Iranian Cultures
6- Tour Leadership Techniques
7- Heritage Interpretation Principles
8- Professional Ethics in Tourism

Iran Mountaineering & Sport Climbing Federation Certificates
My passion for mountaineering led me to pursue professional training through Iran’s official Mountaineering Federation. The rigorous program – blending academic study with high-altitude fieldwork – required completing 13 courses over four years to earn a national coaching license. Within two years, I successfully passed eight courses (including rock climbing and rescue operations) before a chronic back injury necessitated withdrawal from the program.

Iranian Red Crescent Society Certificates
I further expanded my emergency response qualifications through the Iranian Red Crescent Society, an affiliate of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Their certified courses provided essential hands-on training in practical lifesaving skills, while also connecting me with highly dedicated professionals in the field.

Department of Environment (Iran) Certification
Through a unique collaboration between Iran’s Department of Environment (the national environmental regulatory body) and AvayeBoom NGO, I gained hands-on experience in their professional “Principles of water bird census” field program

University of Tehran Certificates
I was fortunate to study at the University of Tehran, where I had the privilege of complementing my master’s studies with additional tourism workshops and practical training beyond my degree requirements.
